Why am I falling behind?
I'm really disappointed that I'm falling behind with this book because I absolutely adored The Darkest Minds! It was a little bit slow at times but I've heard that this one really wipes the floor with the first book and how it's so much better than anyone expected. I think because of all of the hype and speculation, I don't want to go in and be disappointed considering how much I enjoyed the first book. I even own the third book, In The Afterlight, so I intend to marathon the entire series sometime soon!

Why am I falling behind?

I feel awful about this book because this was one that I received from a publisher to review and I still haven't read or reviewed it yet! Bad Blogger, I know, slap me on the wrist. At the time I was really excited to read about it but as I gradually got to reading it I just completely lost interest it. I'll pick it up eventually but unfortunately I think this might be one I'm going to struggle to read! We shall see!

This week I have decided to to change the formatting up a little bit because I have obtained quite a few ARC's from publishers recently and I feel bad that I haven't managed to get to them yet. Some of these books I've had for almost a month or two and some I've just recently received. However, these are the books that I am falling behind on this Friday!

Why am I falling behind?
There could be many reasons why I'm falling behind on all of these books but the actual answer is that I request too many books at one time and then try (and usually fail) to cram them all into a single month to read. It's difficult because I have so many other books on my own bookshelves that I want to get too as well. It's hard to find a mix of ARC's and personal books sometimes but I'm slowly getting better at it! Luckily most of these don't come out until September so plenty time over the holidays to get to reading them!

Why am I falling behind?

I blame the reason I'm falling behind on this book purely on the reactions that the 2nd book in this series received. When I read a book in a series in full knowledge that the second book is out, I like to be excited because usually the books just keep getting better and better. In this case I have heard so many negative reviews in regards to The Infinite Sea that it's making me question whether I want to start the trilogy in the first place. It's meant to be quite good, I mean it has a movie coming out soon for goodness sake. Should I take a chance and power through it?

Why am I falling behind?
Ever since the idea behind Afterworlds was released into this world I knew I had to get my hands on it, so when it was eventually released in the UK I grabbed this book as quick as humanly possibly. Unfortunately the only reason it's still sitting on my shelf is purely down to the sheer size of the book. It's absolutely huge and although people have told me that because it's told in alternating chapters it doesn't feel as long, there is still something that is quite intimidating about the book. Hopefully I'll get to it eventually!

I actually own the entirety of this series and I've tried to read the first book so many times but I can't physically bring myself around to completing it! I have no idea what it is about the book because everybody's comments seem to praise the book and it really does seem like something I would really enjoy. It's a bizarre one.

Why am I falling behind?

It's such a shame that I'm falling behind on this series because everybody I talk to absolutely rants and raves about it! It sounds like an awesome series as well, but I just found the writing style to be really tricky to get into. I own the eBook of the first book, The Knife of Never Letting Go and just the integration of the thoughts into the writing made it really difficult for me to gain the concept of. I think I got as far as Todd meeting up with the girl and then I stopped reading. This is definitely a series I am desperate to catch up with so hopefully I can return to it soon and give it the second chance it deserves!

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE BY JANE AUSTEN

Why am I falling behind?

I hate to admit this one because it's one of those classics that pretty much everyone has read. It's also the basis for some of the most romantic traits that occur in YA novels today. I have technically started this as I was meant to read it for school, but as I decided to drop English Literature during my second year of A Levels (worst decision ever!), I never found my self to picking it back up again. I even have two copies of this book - a battered school copy and a pristine beautiful cover edition. Oops? I do hope to get to this at some point this year as I am desperate to see what all of the fuss is all about!

Why am I falling behind?

I have to admit that I have read the first two books in this series and I'm 1/4 of the way through the third. I had to read the first one twice because I just wasn't into it the first time around. I know I like this world and the stories always seem gripping but just something about them is preventing me from reading them. Perhaps it's the popularity - I don't want to be the person who hates them (even though I know thats not true) but it could also be the length of the series and of the books? Who knows. I intend to finish this series in 2015! That is my goal!

Why am I falling behind?
I know exactly why I am falling behind on this classic series and it's purely down to the fact that I've seen the movie adaptations. As this trilogy requires a lot of time I've always just kind of put it off because I already know the storyline. I think this is the major reason behind why I haven't invested in the Song of Ice and Fire series either - plus those books are like 800 pages a piece! The Lord of the Rings trilogy is definitely a series I want to invest my time in eventually because believe it or not I have actually read The Hobbit so I know I enjoy the world and the writing ect.

Why am I falling behind?

I think that Paper Towns was just one of those books that I picked up after I had read The Fault in Our Stars and then shelved because I wasn't emotionally prepared for another heart-renching roller coaster that does not certainly only go up my friend! So naturally as it got shelved and other books released, dust gathered and then I just lost the urge to read it. However, with the movie coming out in a few months I feel obliged to read it before I go and see the film - well that and I'm having a real craving for summer/road trip books at the minute and I think that this could cure that fix. Perhaps it will be the next book I pick up! Who am I kidding, probably not. Have you seen my review pile?

Falling Behind on Friday #4: Trouble by Non Pratt

Why am I falling behind?

I can't seem to justify a valid reason behind why I have fallen behind with Trouble. It's just not acceptable. I don't own a physical copy of the book but it is on my kindle - which is why I think it might have been pushed back down the TBR pile... I think that if I am able to physical see this book on my shelves then the guilt builds up inside me quicker and encourages me on read it - on my kindle (which is quite often out of battery) it remains sitting there, screaming at me to read it behind a dying screen. Poor thing. That reminds me, I need to charge it. However, when I first ordered Trouble I was super excited for it, and I still am. I loved the movie Juno and I was getting a Juno-ish vibe from the book with the whole teenage pregnancy issue, even if the plot line is completely different. Also, this book was a YA Book Prize nominee, it makes me want to devour it even more than usual! It doesn't help that Non Pratt also has another book coming out, 'Remix' which is my MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE OF THE SUMMER! I literally have been eyeing this book up since it was first announced so I am counting down the months till it's release! Not long now! Perhaps I shall have to just marathon these when Remix is released. I wonder if Non managed to find a proof for me...I'll have to ask.

Although I own the entire Grisha trilogy and its been sitting on my shelves for ages, I haven't actually been urged to start it. I think it's mainly because I've heard so much hype about it and it's so popular that I'm afraid to start it incase I don't enjoy it!

Why am I falling behind?

Now this is probably another one that people are going to be throwing stuff at me for. How could I have not finished Allegiant yet? You see the thing is, I have read the book, just not all the way through. I know the ending and what happens along the way, I just haven't devoured every single page because I might have skipped over a few chapters. Oops? When Allegiant first came out there was just so much hype around it that when I got to it, I wasn't enjoying it as much as I should have. It also didn't help that I wasn't enjoying the story as much as I was hoping for - it just seemed to be a bit anticlimactic to me. I will get to this book eventually though! I plan on marathoning the entire trilogy one after the other to get the full effect and be able to remember everything that happens as I go along. So there is another shameful secret that you guys get to know!

Now I know a lot of you are probably screaming at your keyboards wondering why I'm excited for Queen of Shadows if I haven't even read Heir of Fire? What makes it worse dear readers is I got a signed copy of the book three weeks before it's release back in August 2014! Shameful I know! I read the first two books in the series, as well as the prequel novellas back in April 2014 and then when the third book came out I just shelved it with the others! I literally have no excuse for why I didn't pick it up, not even that I was completing my University degree because I still read books then! So now you guys know my shameful secret!
