There are pictures to colour in, drawings to complete, spaces to scribble in and lots of things to find in these super-detailed doodles by artist Kerby Rosanes. Featuring unique and intricate ink drawings of incredible animals, shape-shifting aliens and breathtaking scenes. Readers will have to keep their eyes peeled for hidden treasures and creatures scattered throughout the pages.

I have to admit, I never thought I'd find myself reviewing a colouring book, even in my line of work but when the lovely people at Michael O'Mara Books asked if they could send a few adult colouring books my way, I didn't refuse. A few weeks on I've had the time to have a detailed look through each of the books they sent and me and my sister and girlfriend have had a wonderful time sitting down and colouring a variety of images found inside the books. So what did I think of them?

Today's review is going to be primarily focused on just one of the books, Animorphia by Kerby Rosanes. I've had my eye on this book for a while now because of the dynamic image on the cover. It looks really detailed and interesting and trust me when I tell you this, the images are just as beautiful on the inside. Now don't worry dear readers, not all of the blank colouring pages are as detailed as the one on the cover. If like me you find yourself a novice in the artistic department there are images that I would class to be quite basic. I liked to start with those ones first purely because it got me into the hang of things. This book is brilliant because although it's targeted at Adults, there are images in here for all of the family to complete. I would definitely have this one on hand should any relatives come over who just want to chill. This book is quirky, adventurous and full of life and anyone spending their time colouring in some of the images will adore it. What I really enjoyed about this book was that scattered throughout all of the detailed pages are little challenges and hints to prompt the reader. It really embellishes your creative side!

I found myself really enjoying just sitting back and colouring in. It's sad but it's true. It's something that I haven't done for a very long time, and even though as a primary teacher I find myself surrounded by the opportunities to colour in, I never do it. But you know what, you can never go wrong with a bit of old fashioned colouring in. It's sappy to say but I really found pleasure in just kicking back and losing myself in trying to stay within the lines. I repeat that enough on a daily basis as it is! Also, remember to shade!

So overall this colouring book is fantastic for adults who just want to kick back after a stressful day at work, or those who simply just want some time to fill and to bring out their creative side. It's fun for all of the family with the ability levels of the drawings gaining in difficulty as you work your way throughout the book. I thoroughly enjoyed this colouring book, I thought it was amazing and ridiculously time consuming considering how much effort it'll make you want to put in it. I award Animorphia by Kerby Rosanes a 5 out of 5 stars on my classification scale. A lovely blend of animals and creative passion!
